Anointed Mothering

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.”‭‭

Psalms‬ ‭127‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭

Since becoming a mom in 2020, Jesus has taken me on the most beautiful journey of servanthood and humbling. I was just a girl with baby fever, but little did I know the amount of humbling and healing that comes along with being a mom. In a culture that praises the “woe-is-me” mindset for mothers, it is one of the most difficult things to view your children as a gift. But they are!! The world does not praise servanthood. Being a parent is all about servitude! We lead them by picking up our crosses everyday and taking care of them/training them/raising them. It’s not fun to disciple, but it’s part of the journey. It’s where we learn selflessness and not idolizing ourselves or our comfort. It’s where we can began to see the true heart of the Father towards us. It’s where we are humbled to a place of deep surrender. Without allowing the flow of these things in our lives, we walk in rebellion and discomfort… completely forsaking the amazing calling we have to lead these beautiful humans in enjoyment and being present. Life is so quick! Let us not fall for the lies that our kids are a burden. Let’s enter into the flow of anointed mothering and put aside our pride and comfort.

Our children are a heritage of the Lord! What a gift it is to be a mother.
